Our experts specialize in geotechnical engineering, construction materials evaluation, special inspections, geological sciences, subsurface exploration, and investigative engineering.SummaryJoin our team as a Construction Inspector, providing essential inspections and material testing on high-profile commercial projects throughout the Greater Rochester, NY area. Help ensure compliance on some of the regions most exciting construction sites. Responsibilities

  • Perform tests and inspections for soils, concrete, asphalt, reinforced concrete, masonry, welding & bolting, fireproofing & firestopping, geotechnical investigations, and more. 
  • Read construction drawings and specifications and correctly interpret test results.
  • Complete assignment accurately and in accordance with appropriate established standards. 
  • Record and report test results in a clear, concise manner. 
  • Communicate regularly with project managers. 
  • Complete field data records and associated reports daily. 
  • Prepare for and complete continuing education for certifications through the American Concrete Institute (ACI) and International Code Council (ICC). 
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma required. 
  • Degree in Civil Engineering / Technology, Geology, or related is ideal, although necessary. 
  • Must possess at least one International Code Council (ICC) Certification for one of the following Special Inspector Categories: reinforced concrete, soils, masonry, spray applied fireproofing, steel & bolt or steel & weld, or American Concrete Institute (ACI) Grade 1, or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate through a State Board. 
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with managers, teammates, and clients, through clear communications and proactive progress reporting. 
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
