Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Account Manager to join a growing mechanical services team in Charlotte. This is a relationship-driven sales position focused on developing new business, expanding existing customer relationships, and selling commercial HVAC service and maintenance solutions.

The ideal candidate is competitive, personable, self-motivated, and comfortable getting out into the market to build relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys the sales side of the HVAC industry but also wants to be part of a stable, team-oriented organization with long-term growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new commercial HVAC service and maintenance accounts throughout the Charlotte market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with facility managers, property managers, building owners, general contractors, and other commercial decision-makers.
  • Identify opportunities for preventive maintenance agreements, HVAC service, repairs, equipment replacements, retrofits, and system improvements.
  • Manage and grow an existing portfolio of commercial customers while actively pursuing new business.
  • Conduct customer meetings, site visits, and facility walkthroughs to understand HVAC needs and identify opportunities.
  • Prepare proposals, pricing, presentations, and service recommendations.
  • Partner closely with service technicians, operations, estimating, and leadership to develop solutions for customers.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and consistently follow up on opportunities.
  • Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers and help ensure a high level of service and responsiveness.
  • Spend approximately 60% of the role in the field and 40% in the office, depending on customer and business needs.

Qualifications

  • Commercial HVAC, mechanical services, building services, or related industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in account management, outside sales, service sales, or business development preferred.
  • Understanding of commercial HVAC equipment, service agreements, and facility maintenance is highly beneficial.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and generate new business.
  • Strong communication, presentation, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Self-directed and comfortable managing a territory and sales pipeline.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work closely with technical and operational teams.
  • Driven, dependable, competitive, and motivated by building long-term customer relationships.
