Commercial Hvac Project Manager

Our client, a growing commercial HVAC contractor, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Garner. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on leader who can manage both field operations and office responsibilities. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems along with proven project and crew management experience.

Job Responsibilities -

• Oversee commercial HVAC construction projects from planning through completion.

• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents to guide execution in the field.

• Manage construction crews and field staff, keeping projects on schedule and within scope.

• Partner closely with the field superintendent to align on daily priorities and progress.

• Balance time between the job site and office, handling both field oversight and administrativepaperwork.

• Travel to job sites as needed, with travel expected at approximately 40%.

• Report project status, timelines, and any issues to leadership.

• Support occasional weekend work during shutdowns or peak project periods.

Job Requirements -

• 3-5 years of experience as a Project Manager or in a similar leadership role within commercial HVAC construction.

• Strong technical knowledge of commercial HVAC systems.

• Proven experience managing construction crews, including scheduling and documentation/paperwork.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.

• Valid driver's license with willingness to travel to job sites regularly.

• Experience working directly alongside a field superintendent in a collaborative, hands-on capacity is preferred

• Background split between field and office-based project management is preferred.
