JL Anderson Heating & Cooling is growing our commercial service team and hiring a Commercial HVAC Technician to support commercial customers across Lafayette and the surrounding areas. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on HVAC experience who enjoys troubleshooting, diagnosing issues, maintaining equipment performance, and solving problems in the field. What You'll DoDiagnose, maintain, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems across a variety of applications and facilities. Work on equipment, including rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, boilers, VRF systems, VAV systems, and controls. Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical, pneumatic, electronic, and refrigeration-related issues, complete startups and performance testing, and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency. Assist with equipment replacements and installations as needed while maintaining accurate documentation, communicating effectively with customers and internal teams, and following all safety and company standards.
What We're Looking For• 2+ years of HVAC service or maintenance experience, ideally in commercial environments• Strong understanding of HVAC diagnostics, electrical systems, refrigeration, controls, and schematics• Ability to diagnose issues efficiently and complete quality repairs• EPA Universal Certification required• NATE Certification preferred but not required• Experience reading blueprints and technical diagrams• Ability to work independently and manage service responsibilities professionally• Comfortable working at heights and in varying field conditions• Valid driver's license with an insurable driving record
Preferred Experience• Commercial RTUs, boilers, VAV, VRF, and controls experience• Preventive maintenance and commercial service programs• Building automation or controls exposure
