Full-service law firm in Monmouth County, NJ is seeking an Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant.
Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant:
This role requires strong litigation knowledge, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority matters in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to commercial litigation attorneys
- Draft, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and correspondence in state and federal courts
- Manage electronic court filings (including complex filings with exhibits and appendices)
- Maintain litigation calendars and track deadlines related to motions, discovery, hearings, and trials
- Assist with all phases of discovery, including document production, deposition coordination, and discovery responses
- Organize, maintain, and manage electronic case files
- Coordinate service of process, subpoenas, and deposition logistics
- Communicate professionally with courts, clients, opposing counsel, experts, and vendors
- Assist with trial and arbitration preparation, including exhibit management, trial binders, and witness coordination
- Support attorneys with billing, time entry, expense tracking, and client matter management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate's degree, bachelor's degree, or paralegal certificate preferred
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure, court rules, and litigation terminology
- Experience with state and federal e-filing systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal document management systems (iManage preferred)
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000/year
