Compensation$90,000 – $130,000 + Incentives (based on experience)

Overview

We are looking for a Commercial Roofing Estimator to join a growing team in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive estimates for commercial roofing projects, ensuring profitability while supporting successful project execution.

What You’ll Do

• Estimating & Preconstruction• Review plans, specs, and bid documents to understand project scope• Perform take-offs and quantify materials quickly and accurately• Conduct site visits when needed to gather project details• Prepare detailed cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead• Develop competitive proposals for new construction, reroof, and restoration projects

Vendor & Subcontractor CoordinationSolicit and review pricing from suppliers and subcontractorsCompare bids and ensure competitive, accurate costing

CollaborationWork closely with Project Managers and Sales teams from bid through project completionBuild relationships with General Contractors and follow up on bids

Data & ReportingMaintain historical cost data to improve future estimatesPrepare reports and present proposals internally and to clients

Market AwarenessStay current on roofing systems, materials, and industry trendsUnderstand local codes and market conditions to stay competitive

Quality & ComplianceEnsure all estimates meet safety, quality, and regulatory standardsContinuously improve estimating accuracy and efficiency

What You Bring

• 3+ years of estimating experience, preferably in commercial roofing• Strong knowledge of roofing systems (TPO, EPDM, PVC, Modified, Metal, etc.)• Experience reading blueprints, specs, and bid documents• Proficiency with estimating software (EDGE preferred) and Microsoft Office• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines

Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed

Work Environment

Combination of office work and field/site visitsOccasional overtime to meet bid deadlinesMust be comfortable working at heights when needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with EDGE estimating software• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools• OSHA 10 or 30 certification• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
