Position Title: Communications & Volunteerism InternshipReports To: Communications CoordinatorLocation: Laradon fosters a collaborative, team environment; working on-site in Denver, CO and requires traveling to client employment locations.Schedule: Summer 2026 - flexible day shift hours and daysStarting Salary: Unpaid InternshipLaradon has been a leader in advocacy, education, and support for kids and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities for over 75 years. Your influence will not only impact the lives of youth and/or adults, but the community as a whole.Laradon staff work extremely hard and are challenged every day, but they play a key role in supporting the well-being of the individuals that we serve.Role OverviewLaradon is seeking a creative, community-minded, and energetic intern for Summer 2026 (May-August). This dual-focus role offers hands-on experience in both Nonprofit Communications and Volunteer Management. You won’t just be observing; you will be the voice of our mission, helping us tell the stories of the individuals we serve and building the volunteer force that makes our work possible.Tasks and duties the internship include, but are not limited to:• Support the growth of Laradon’s volunteer program through recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and ongoing communication.• Assist with day-of volunteer logistics for groups and events to ensure smooth operations and positive experiences.• Supporting the communications manager with creating unique and interesting content for Laradon’s social media channels— Facebook, Instagram, TikTok & LinkedIn• Creating content for the Laradon.org blog on a monthly basis. This includes setting up interviews, taking photos, interviewing, writing and posting the story• Supporting the Communications Coordinator in creating a successful Disability Pride Month Campaign for the month of July.
- Help design and execute consistent marketing materials, fundraising appeals, and social media blitzes to celebrate our community.
