Job Description
Our client is looking for a Communication Systems Technician in the Charlotte, NC area to join their service team. This role centers on installing, programming, and maintaining two-way radio and related communication equipment for customers who depend on it every day. It is a good fit for someone with a radio background who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with customers, and learning new technology.
Communication Systems Technician Responsibilities:
Install, program, and maintain two-way radio and other communication equipment
Troubleshoot and repair systems quickly to restore service for mission-critical customers
Upgrade and update customer systems, including firmware and software updates
Complete assigned service tickets accurately and on time
Work closely with the service manager, teammates, and customers
Take part in an on-call rotation for technical support
Communication Systems Technician Requirements:
1 to 3 years of experience with radio communications, including diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing mobile equipment
Military or similar radio communications background is a plus
Understanding of two-way radio theory, or a real willingness to learn it
Experience with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, watt meters, and multimeters
Strong communication skills with customers and third parties
Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen
