Job Description:

The Compliance Coordinator is a pivotal role responsible for leading and managing the full lifecycle of policy development, implementation, and oversight across the entire health system. This position ensures organizational policies-spanning clinical, administrative, operational, and compliance areas-are current, effective, accessible, and aligned with applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards. Additionally, the Compliance Coordinator coordinates system-wide compliance and information security risk assessments, playing a key role in identifying vulnerabilities, supporting mitigation strategies, and ensuring regulatory readiness. This role serves as a trusted advisor and liaison to staff, leadership, and external partners, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

What you will do

  • Lead and coordinate the development, review, approval, and maintenance of all health system policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with internal standards and external regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and manage a centralized, accessible policy repository, ensuring proper version control, user access, and clear communication of updates across departments.
  • Coordinate organization-wide compliance and security risk assessments by facilitating collaboration among key stakeholders, gathering evidence, analyzing risk exposure, and tracking remediation efforts.
  • Conduct internal audits and monitoring activities to assess policy adherence and evaluate the effectiveness of compliance and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with clinical, and operational leaders to ensure that policies and risk assessments address organizational priorities and evolving regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze regulatory updates, industry trends, and operational data to proactively recommend policy enhancements and risk-reduction strategies.
  • Design and deliver engaging training and communications that support awareness, understanding, and implementation of policies and risk management practices.
  • Serve as the primary resource for policy interpretation, policy lifecycle processes, and compliance risk issues, supporting staff and leadership in consistent, informed decision-making.
  • Coordinating third-party risk management through proactive and recurring business associate and service provider assessments could be something to include as well

Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree (AA) Healthcare related field (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Healthcare related field (preferred)
  • 1-3 years Clinical role (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance principles, and policy governance.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, and actionable policies and communications.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify risk areas, assess policy effectiveness, and propose data-informed improvements.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Proficiency with document management systems and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with policy management platforms is a plus.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information and sensitive topics.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively across clinical, operational, administrative, and executive teams.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical, user-friendly policies and guidance.
  • Health Services\CHC-Certified Healthcare Compliance Certificate (preferred)
