Compliance Officer - Police Department

Title: Compliance OfficerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSalary: $53,333.59 annually

Status: Full-time, onsite

Department: Police Department Job Purpose:The Code Compliance Officer is responsible for enforcement of Nuisance Ordinances adopted by the City. The purpose of the Code Compliance Officer is to identify, document, and resolve grass, garbage, illegal vehicles and other nuisance violations. This employee will be a non-commissioned member of the University City Police Department. Examples of Common Tasks:The following duties are normal for this position, but not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required as assigned.Performs routine patrols and nuisance inspections out in the public

Notifies and communicates directly with property owners and/or occupants of existing nuisance violations

Maintains Department property files including documentation of violations

Prepares violation reports

Performs follow-up inspections of existing violations as required

Attends Administrative Adjudication court as necessary

Ability to enforce City ordinances with firmness, tact, and impartiality

Basic personal computer knowledge

Current & valid driver's license

Experience working with public under emotionally trying circumstances
