Compliance Specialist — Urgently hiring in Kansas City!Job Title: Compliance SpecialistPay: $50,000 per yearHours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMStart Date: ASAPLooking for a rewarding opportunity to make an impact in affordable housing? Join our team as a Compliance Specialist in Kansas City, MO and help ensure the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of housing programs.In this role, you'll conduct audits, monitor regulatory compliance, and collaborate with internal teams to promote quality assurance and operational excellence across Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher, and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit programs.What You'll DoAs a Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for:
  • Conduct audits of participant files, financial records, and program processes to ensure compliance with HUD, PH, HCV, and LIHTC regulations while identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.*
  • Monitor regulatory changes, interpret program requirements, and support the implementation of compliant policies, procedures, and best practices.*
  • Maintain accurate audit documentation, prepare compliance reports, and evaluate workflows to improve data integrity, operational efficiency, and quality assurance.*
  • Serve as a compliance resource by advising internal teams on complex cases, policy interpretation, and regulatory requirements while supporting training and knowledge sharing.*
  • Collaborate across departments to strengthen compliance programs, optimize processes, and promote consistent, high-quality program administration.
What You’ll BringThe ideal candidate for this role will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field preferred (equivalent education and experience considered).*
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in affordable housing compliance, occupancy, property management, housing program administration, or a related field.*
  • Strong knowledge of HUD, PH, HCV, and LIHTC regulations with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.*
  • Ability to conduct detailed audits, interpret regulations, develop compliance solutions, and support training and continuous process improvement.*
  • Required Skill: Quality Assurance
