The Opportunity:CACI is seeking a 508 Compliance Tester to join our team in National Harbor, MD.As the 508 Compliance Tester, you will be responsible for the 508-compliance testing, usability testing, and quality testing for a FEMA web-based products and content. In this role you will be part of a high-performing development team working with customer product managers to support existing web application and web re-design efforts. This candidate will follow testing procedures, performing accessibility audits based on Section 508 compliance standards, documenting detailed findings on identified issues, and recommending potential solutions.Responsibilities:

  • Performs Section 508 compliance tests on web products and content (e.g. PDFs)
  • Executes test scripts for testing of website design, functionality, content, and related testing specifications for efficiency and immediate alerts of failure in quality
  • Support development and maintain test, training, and validation library of both test data and procedures to support functional, performance and regression testing
  • Maintain the FEMA repository of all O&M documentation and support activities
  • Utilize DHS Maestro tool suite, including Jira, Confluence and GitLab
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements, design and develop training modules and artifacts
  • Works collaboratively with leads, developers, project managers, and graphics teams
  • Attains DHS accessibility training including DHS Trusted Tester accreditation to ensure websites and products are testing and validated as accessibility compliant according to Section 508
  • Ensures websites are compliant with DHS mandates, policies, and guidelines such as adhering to Section 508 Accessibility laws, IT regulations, complying with standard operating procedures and program processes as determined by leadership, etc.
  • Maintains DHS required 508 certifications such as trusted tester
  • Brings a collaborative, team-centric attitude and enthusiasm that encourages outreach and partnership
  • Create test scripts to perform quality assurance on the data migration processes, data integrity, all reporting as required or defined before releasing the solution to the TDL environment for integration testing and UAT testing.
  • Support integration testing, user acceptance/validation testing, support performance stress testing (if needed), and system test and evaluation (ST&E) to validate the solution meets the Mitigation mission, applicable regulations, and needs. And conforms to the FEMA Security standards.
  • Support for Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) testing for the approval of the application and supporting documentation.
  • Perform 508 Compliance testing in the COCO environments.
  • Perform Security testing/scanning in the COCO environments.

Qualifications:Required: 

  • Ability to obtain a FEMA Entrance on Duty (EOD)
  • BA + 5 years experience or Equivalency (equivalency includes MA + 2 years applicable experience, 11 years applicable experience or AA + 7 years applicable experience)
  • Proficient using an automated testing technology such as JAWS for Section 508 compliance screen reading
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience testing for 508 accessibility compliance
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Strong initiative to proactively establishing relationships, finding opportunities to innovate and improve value, as well as providing new ideas for improvement
  • Able to understand the day-to-day operational needs of customers and identify areas for improvement in business processes and propose solutions
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
