Job Description

Summary

Our client is seeking a Compound Pharmacy Technician to support pharmaceutical compounding operations in a controlled cleanroom environment. This role is ideal for someone with prior sterile compounding or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience who is already familiar with aseptic processing and can work with minimal training. The successful candidate will prepare compound formulations, accurately dispense solutions into vials, operate lyophilization equipment, and strictly follow aseptic techniques, cleanroom protocols, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance.

This position requires experience working in a Level 4 cleanroom and an Aseptic Processing Certification. Candidates must be highly detail-oriented, comfortable performing repetitive precision-based tasks, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of sterility and quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

Sterile Compounding & Production

  • Prepare and compound pharmaceutical formulations according to established procedures and batch records.
  • Accurately pipette solutions into vials, typically in volumes of 1–2 mL, while maintaining precision and consistency.
  • Load, unload, and monitor trays within lyophilization (freeze-drying) equipment.
  • Perform pharmaceutical production activities while maintaining strict aseptic technique.

Cleanroom Operations

  • Perform all work within a controlled Level 4 cleanroom environment.
  • Follow aseptic processing procedures to prevent contamination throughout the compounding process.
  • Adhere to gowning procedures, cleanroom protocols, and contamination control requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP, SOPs, and quality assurance standards.

Documentation & Quality

  • Complete production records, batch documentation, and laboratory logs accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the compounding process.
  • Report equipment issues, process deviations, or quality concerns to supervisors.
  • Support internal audits and inspection readiness activities.

Cleaning & Compliance

  • Clean and sanitize equipment, workstations, and cleanroom areas using validated procedures.
  • Utilize proper sterile wiping techniques and approved disinfectants to maintain cleanroom standards.
  • Follow all company policies regarding quality, documentation, and workplace safety.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Experience

  • Previous experience in sterile pharmaceutical compounding, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or a regulated pharmaceutical laboratory.
  • Experience working in a Level 4 cleanroom environment.
  • Aseptic Processing Certification required.
  • Experience working under Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of aseptic processing and contamination control.
  • Experience preparing sterile compound formulations.
  • Experience accurately pipetting small-volume solutions into vials.
  • Familiarity with lyophilization (freeze-drying) equipment is highly preferred.
  • Strong documentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
