About the role

The Compounding Pharmacy Technician plays a critical role in the preparation of customized medications. This position requires extensive prior compounding experience, a strong understanding of USP regulations, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a regulated compounding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate non-sterile compounding according to established formulas and prescriptions
  • Adhere strictly to USP , and , state board regulations, and internal SOPs
  • Accurately calculate quantities, measure ingredients, and compound preparations using proper techniques
  • Maintain complete and accurate batch records, compounding logs, and cleaning documentation
  • Perform routine cleaning, sanitization, and maintenance of compounding areas and equipment
  • Handle hazardous medications safely and appropriately when applicable
  • Assist with quality assurance activities, including beyond-use dating and stability considerations
  • Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and assist with ordering compounding supplies
  • Collaborate with pharmacists to ensure prescriptions are compounded correctly and delivered on time
  • Identify and report discrepancies, errors, or equipment issues promptly
  • Support training of junior technicians when needed
