This role is for a Computer Support Specialist (CSS) specifically supporting the Health Commerce System (HCS). It is a unique "Technical-Administrative" hybrid: half of the job is IT Help Desk (MFA, RSA, password resets) and the other half is secure document processing (vetting, scanning, and indexing).Job Description: Computer Support Specialist (HCS)Location: 800 North Pearl Street, Menands, NY Role Type: Technical Support & Account AdministrationPosition OverviewThe Computer Support Specialist (CSS) provides essential technical and administrative support for the Health Commerce System (HCS). This position acts as the first line of defense for user access issues, ranging from high-level Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) troubleshooting to the physical processing of secure account documentation. The ideal candidate balances technical problem-solving with a high degree of organizational accuracy.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical User Support & Identity Access
- Account Management: Handle the full lifecycle of HCS accounts, including provisioning, deprovisioning, creation, password resets, and re-enabling locked accounts.
- Security & MFA: Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external MFA and RSA issues; perform RSA PIN resets and oversee token distribution, installation, and approval.
- Technical Guidance: Assist users in navigating the HCS site, assigning appropriate user roles, and modifying browser configurations for application compatibility.
- Inquiry Response: Actively listen to customer issues via telephone and written requests, providing respectful, helpful, and appropriate technical solutions.
- User Vetting: Process paper documents for HCS accounts, including accepting or rejecting applications based on state-mandated requirements.
- Digital Records Management: Scan documents into tracking systems and FileNet; key and verify completed records to ensure 100% data accuracy.
- Credentialing: Prepare and mail HCS PIN letters and account activation instructions to approved medical professionals and providers.
- File Maintenance: Establish new files by numbering forms, coding, and preparing physical folders. Perform routine updates and corrections to existing records.
- Operate office machinery including high-speed scanners, hand scanners, photocopiers, and printers.
- Direct specialized application questions to the appropriate departmental contacts.
- Perform other related duties as required to support the efficient operation of the HCS unit.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Experience with MFA/RSA security protocols and browser settings (Chrome/Edge/Safari).
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to guide non-technical users through complex technical steps.
- Organizational Mastery: High attention to detail regarding data entry and the handling of sensitive, confidential documentation.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn proprietary systems like FileNet and HCS.
