Summary of Primary Functions: Directs and coordinate activities of support department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products in industrial organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reviews production orders/BOMs or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
Plans support operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications
Reviews production and operating reports resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Ensure specific operational performances and optimum utilization
Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettled grievances to Production Superintendent for actions
Knowledge of carpentry, warehouse operations, metal fabrications, welding fabrication and equipment operations, and be able to step in as needed
Job Specifications or Qualifications:
Education: High School plus Vocation or Technical Education is preferred.
Experience: 5 to 7 (+) years related experience is required.
Supervisory Experience: 3 - 5 (+) years of similar supervisory experience is preferred.
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will encounter adverse conditions daily. The employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions; frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Travel Required: Employee will travel 2 - 3 times per year.
