Technician I – Hardware Configuration & Deployment
Location: North Las Vegas, NV Contract Duration: 3 months - possibility for extension, W2 Contract Work Arrangement: Onsite Shift: Early morning start (5:00 AM)Pay: $23.00/hr
Role Overview
The Technician I is responsible for configuring, testing, and preparing computer systems and related hardware for customer delivery. This role supports high-volume daily production and plays a key part in ensuring systems meet customer specifications and quality standards. The work is hands-on and performed in a warehouse environment, with a strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure computers, printers, and related hardware according to customer specifications
- Install and configure operating systems, software, and peripherals
- Test systems to ensure 100% quality and functionality prior to shipment
- Unbox equipment for configuration and repackage systems for outbound shipping
- Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and peripheral issues
- Meet or exceed established productivity and quality goals
- Communicate order issues or discrepancies to the Help Desk or Team Lead
- Deliver a high level of customer service through accuracy and attention to detail
- Follow all safety procedures and warehouse guidelines at all times
Additional Responsibilities & Work Conditions
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
- Overtime is expected and may be required based on business needs
- Ability to work beyond regularly scheduled shifts when necessary
- Physically capable of:*
- Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs frequently and 26–50 lbs occasionally (team lifts required for items over 50 lbs)
- Pushing and pulling up to 10 lbs occasionally
- Standing, walking, bending, lifting, stooping, and carrying items for 8+ hours per shift
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with temperature fluctuations and noise from conveyors and forklifts
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent education and hands-on experience with the ability to demonstrate technical knowledge
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble and disassemble computer equipment
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly in a fast-changing environment
- Willingness to obtain certifications and continue technical learning
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Network+ (Net+) Certification
- Experience building, configuring, or installing computer systems
- Knowledge of computer components and system configuration
- Familiarity with internal enterprise IT systems (where applicable)
