Job Description

True Living LLC

Construction Bookkeeper - High-End Residential Construction

About Us

We are a high-end residential building company focused on delivering custom homes and major renovations with precision, care, and purpose.

Our work is guided by three core values:

Truth: We communicate clearly and honestly, even when it is hard.

Trust: We do what we say, take ownership, and build confidence with our clients and team.

Thankfulness: We approach our work with gratitude, respect, and a long-term perspective.

Our vision is simple but powerful:

Building With Eternal Perspective

We believe what we build, and how we build it, matters beyond the project itself.

The Role

We are looking for a careful, dependable Construction Bookkeeper who understands that accurate numbers are what keep a custom home build honest.

This role is not just data entry. Every invoice you code and every draw you bill tells our clients the truth about where their money went. On a high-end home, a small coding error in one month becomes a hard client conversation a few months later.

You will own accounts receivable and job costing in our project management software, and you will be the person our project team and our clients rely on for clean, timely financial information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts receivable: client invoicing, draw requests, billing, and collections
  • Code vendor and subcontractor invoices to the correct cost codes in our project management software and QuickBooks
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and resolve discrepancies quickly and transparently
  • Track outstanding payments and communicate with clients on payment status and billing questions
  • Work with project managers to keep job costing accurate and billing matched to progress
  • Maintain organized, current financial records for every project
  • Provide weekly financial reports to ownership
  • Assist with other accounting and office tasks as needed

If you have full-charge bookkeeping, payroll, or construction job-costing experience, let's talk about a broader role and the compensation that goes with it.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper, in accounts receivable, or a similar role
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks; experience with construction project management software is a plus
  • Working knowledge of construction billing: draws, change orders, retainage, and lien waivers
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Attention to detail; you understand that small errors early become big problems later
  • Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and speak up early when something will not be on time
  • Clear, honest communication with clients, trades, and coworkers
  • Values alignment with Truth, Trust, and Thankfulness

What Sets This Role Apart

This is not a high-volume, production bookkeeping shop.

Our projects are high-detail, high-expectation environments where:

  • The numbers are part of the client experience
  • Communication matters as much as accuracy

You will not be treated like "just the bookkeeper." You will be trusted to own the financial picture of every job.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Position and title based on experience and qualifications
  • Part-time and full-time options available.
  • Competitive Salary Range $32K to $70K, depending on time and experience.
  • Full-coverage health care included and available to in-office full-time employees.

Why Join Us

  • Work on high-end, meaningful residential projects
  • Stable, long-term opportunity with consistent work
  • A company that respects craftsmanship and people equally
  • Quality of life improvement and pay improvement

Final Thought

We are looking for someone who does not just want a job, but wants to be part of building something that lasts.

"If this sounds like you, send a quick note telling us why this role fits you."
