Construction Craft Laborer Programs at Skilled Workforce College

Are you looking for a way into the high-paying world of construction but don’t know where to start? Skilled Workforce College offers two distinct pathways to get you onto the job site with the skills you need to succeed.

Option 1: The Pre-Apprenticeship (The "Fast Track")

Perfect for those who want to test the waters and gain basic certifications quickly.

Duration: 4 Weeks (Intensive)
What you get: OSHA-10, basic tool safety, and a "Golden Ticket" (direct entry) into our full apprenticeship.
Pay: [Unpaid/Stipend-based – Optional to list based on your final check]
The Goal: Immediate readiness for entry-level site work.

Option 2: The Registered Apprenticeship (The "Career Path")

A 2-year professional journey where you are a paid employee from Day 1.

Duration: 2 Years (includes 320 hours of classroom instruction).
Training Structure: * The "Core": 4–8 weeks of intensive classroom and hands-on lab training.
- The "Field": Mentored On-the-Job Training (OJT) with our partner contractors.
The Pay Scale: * Start: $17/hour
- Completion: $25/hour (plus benefits and Journey-level credentials).

What You’ll Be Doing

Construction Craft Laborers are the "Swiss Army Knives" of the job site. You will learn:

Site Prep: Grade checking, trenching, and site layout.
Concrete & Masonry: Handling, placing, and finishing concrete.
Power Tools: Operating air hammers, earth tampers, and small hoists.
Safety & Signaling: Controlling traffic and managing site hazards.

Program Requirements

Must be 18 years or older.
Must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
Ability to perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
A commitment to showing up on time, every time.
