A bit about us:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. This is a permanent role where you will be responsible for preparing cost estimates for various construction projects, including but not limited to healthcare facilities, hospitals, higher education institutions, schools, commercial buildings, and government construction projects at both federal and state levels. You will be an integral part of our team, working closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure accurate project estimation and budgeting. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, specifically in a similar role.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for a variety of construction projects.
2. Evaluate and compare different supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
3. Engage in bid preparation and submission to potential clients.
4. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to understand project requirements and objectives.
5. Conduct risk analysis to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
6. Use specialized software to create and present detailed cost reports to stakeholders.
7. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in construction cost estimation.
8. Provide consultation on planning, scheduling, and cost control procedures.
9. Participate in project meetings and provide updates on cost-related matters.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator or a similar role in the construction industry.
3. Proven experience in preparing estimates for healthcare facilities, hospitals, higher education institutions, schools, commercial buildings, and government construction projects at both federal and state levels.
4. Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment.
5. Proficiency in using cost estimation and project management software.
6. Excellent skills in analyzing data, interpreting plans, and preparing reports.
7. Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
8. Ability to work in a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
9. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
11. Knowledge of local, state, and federal construction regulations and standards.
12. Professional certification in cost estimation or project management is a plus.
