Construction Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a growing General Contractor/Construction Management firm in Plainfield, NJ. This role focuses on delivering accurate cost estimates for commercial and light industrial projects while supporting preconstruction and client success.

Description

• Estimating: Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial and light industrial projects during preconstruction phases.

• Team Leadership: Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure accurate bids.

• Software: Utilize estimating software and tools such as Procore and Bluebeam for takeoffs and cost analysis.

• Budget Optimization: Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize project budgets.

• Documentation: Maintain updated cost databases and historical pricing records.

• Client Facing: Support bid presentations and client meetings as needed.

Profile

• Minimum 5 years of GC estimating experience, preferably on commercial or industrial projects.

• Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.

• Proficiency in Procore and Bluebeam; familiarity with other estimating tools is a plus.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management preferred.

• Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills for subcontractor and client interactions.
