Construction Materials Testing Technician (Cmt)

SpecTest LLC is a professional materials testing, inspection, and consulting firm looking for a full-time Materials Testing Technician to join our team. We have an immediate need in our Coweta, OK office. The emphasis of this position will be to perform quality control evaluations on concrete, soils, asphalt, masonry, structural steel, and other construction materials at construction sites and in our lab. This work will require close coordination with SpecTest Team Members and project personnel, reading and interpreting project plans and specifications, and daily preparation of field observation reports.

Salary Range: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Responsibilities

The successful candidate in this position will perform the following duties:

• Perform field and laboratory testing for concrete, soils, asphalt, and other various construction materials.
• Completing and submitting accurate daily field reports.
• Good verbal communication with site and office personnel.
• Independently operating and maintaining required equipment.
• Adhere to required safety procedures and standards.

Requirements for this position include:

• The ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• An understanding of basic engineering concepts.
• Basic computer and mathematic skills.
• Ability to work outside, at construction project sites, in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Ability to work early mornings and late afternoons with occasional overtime, weekends, travel out of town, overnight to meet the needs of our clients.
• Must have good written, organizational, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be ACI certified or able to pass the examination within 90 days of employment.
