Job Description
AlphaHire is recruiting on behalf of a client seeking a Construction Operations Manager to oversee civil construction and site development operations in Walpole, Massachusetts. This leadership role is responsible for coordinating project teams, managing field operations, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and within budget.
The position plays a key role in overseeing project performance across multiple construction initiatives, supporting both field teams and project management staff. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in civil construction, land development, or site work, along with the leadership skills needed to drive operational performance and maintain high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction operations across multiple site development and civil construction projects
- Manage project managers, field supervisors, and construction crews to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
- Coordinate project planning, resource allocation, and scheduling across active job sites
- Monitor job costs, budgets, change orders, and operational performance
- Maintain strong communication with clients, subcontractors, engineers, and internal teams
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures
- Review project schedules and address operational challenges to maintain production timelines
- Support estimating, preconstruction planning, and project start-up coordination
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and project delivery processes
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in construction operations, project management, or field leadership
- Background in civil construction, site work, land development, or related infrastructure projects
- Proven experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously
- Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and field operations
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, crews, and project management teams
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with construction management software and project tracking tools
Preferred Experience
- Experience managing site development, utility, grading, or land development projects
- Familiarity with regional construction practices and permitting processes
- Background overseeing multiple crews or project teams across several job sites
- Experience improving operational processes or scaling construction teams
