Job Description
Position SummaryResponsible for purchasing materials and coordinating activities involved with procuring goods and services to assist in the successful bidding and execution of projects. Requests bids then analyses vendor pricing and capacity, to meet budget and project requirements, negotiating if necessary. Presents recommendations to project teams and prepares contracts for the work.
Duties & Responsibilities
Review specifications and architectural drawings to confirm scope of work, including material and labor requirementsRequest quotes, analyze pricing and compliance, prepare contracts and process the required documentationActively develops budgets, schedules and performance plans to meet customer and company goals and objectivesWork directly with estimators, CAD Technicians and Project ManagersInterview vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery scheduleMaintains manual or computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, or inventoriesPrepares engineering instructions for shop drawing processClearly communicates schedules, risks, vendor conditions in the debriefing to the operations teamEnsures that estimate is complete, and all risk is covered/mitigated. Account for any missing items in estimate

Purchasing Agent II:

Minimum Qualifications
4 - 7 years of experience

Drives the project team through purchasing processAbility to navigate and mitigate risk, communicate these strategies to the teamWorks on medium sized projects
Intermediate knowledge of ISEC products, services, processes and projectsAbility to lead an assignment/special project from start to finishMakes decisions independently depending on level of complexityFunctions autonomously most of the timeAbility to be strategic/think critically and analyticallyInitiates and maintains relationships with key staff and other departmentsContributes to the company above and beyond positionAssist in development/mentoring of Level 1; may have direct reports
Sr. Purchasing Agent:

Bachelor's degree in a related field
Minimum Qualifications
7+ years of experience

High level of strategy, proactive engagement to move project through purchasing effectively; holds others accountableManages and maintains vendor relationshipsCapitalizes on potential opportunities for companywide advantagesWorks on large and complex projectsAbility to stand in for operations teams as needed
Advanced knowledge of ISEC products, services, processes and projectsExposure to multiple or larger projects with increased scope and complexityIndependent decision makingFully autonomous in positionDirects activities; offers recommendations and solutionsDemonstrates problem solving and mature judgement in anticipating and solving issuesAssist in development/mentoring of Level 1 & 2; may have multiple direct reportsMay assist with hiring and performance reviews
