Job Description
(IN PROCESS OF EDITING/ DO NOT POST YET) Role Overview This role seeks a proactive Construction Project Engineer (CPE) to join a family-owned business environment. The CPE bridges the gap between office operations and field execution, supporting the Estimator, Project Manager, and Field Superintendent to ensure projects are delivered safely, with high quality, and on schedule.
- Location: In-person (Office & Active Job Sites)
- Environment: Small, family-owned business culture
- Requirements: Document client needs for submittals and closeouts.
- Estimating: Assist Estimators with material take-offs, build sheets, and rough order of magnitude lists.
- Design Collaboration: Work with the design team to develop preliminary shop drawings, sections, and elevations.
- Scheduling: Refine timelines, Client schedules, and project constraints.
- Material Tracking: Log, track, and process shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
- Procurement: Generate purchasing documents for materials and equipment.
- Meetings: Document pre-construction meetings and coordinate safety planning activities in alignment with established safety protocols.
- Field Liaison: Issue shop drawings to the field and conduct job site observations to ensure quality standards and prevent rework.
- Change Management: Assist in obtaining pricing and developing contract change order requests.
- Documentation: Gather product warranty certificates, start-up documents, and final closeout manuals.
- Experience: Professional experience in construction operations or engineering support is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency or willingness to develop expertise in eSub, CAD, and Panel Builder.
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze data and resolve complex coordination issues with a sense of urgency.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple competing tasks under pressure within a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills; ability to collaborate effectively with clients, architects, and field teams.
- Work Setting: Office environment, construction trailers, and active physical job sites.
- Physical Demands: Regular standing, walking on varied terrain, and climbing ladders as part of site observations.
- Conditions: Exposure to typical job site conditions, including loud noises and varying outdoor temperatures. All activities must be performed in accordance with site-specific safety plans.
- Valid Driver's License and relevant industry experience are required.Credentials:
