Job Description

If you're an experienced construction project manager who knows how to keep budgets, subcontractors, logistics, and field execution moving in the same direction, this role puts that experience to work on renewable energy projects across rural Alaska. As a Construction Project Manager with Renewable Energy Systems, you'll lead multiple projects from contract alignment through commissioning and closeout, with direct responsibility for cost, schedule, quality, stakeholder coordination, and execution. You'll earn $110,000-$130,000, receive a strong benefits package, and take ownership of complex projects where thoughtful planning, sound judgment, and strong execution directly shape the outcome.

What you can expect from us

  • Competitive Pay: $110,000 - $130,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Strong Family Benefits: Access to employer-sponsored medical insurance and 100% employer-paid dental and vision coverage for employees and eligible dependents.
  • Employer-Paid Protection: Company-paid life and disability insurance.
  • Retirement Support: 401(k) with employer matching up to 4%.
  • Education Benefits: Access to University of Alaska Fairbanks in-state tuition rates plus a 10% discount on eligible online courses and certifications.

Where and How You'll Work

  • Work Location: Based in Anchorage or Fairbanks, Alaska, with intermittent travel to rural Alaska project sites and villages.
  • Schedule: Regular, full-time exempt position; project demands, mobilizations, and field activities may require extended or irregular hours.
  • Work Environment: Work is split between office-based project management and active construction sites in remote and rural environments.
  • Travel: Intermittent travel throughout rural Alaska is an essential part of the role and may involve air, marine, and overland transportation.

What You'll Do

  • Lead multiple renewable energy and infrastructure projects from contract execution through construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Own project schedules, budgets, forecasts, cost-to-complete, change orders, and financial reporting while maintaining margin and contractual discipline.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and long-lead material planning to ensure projects are ready before mobilization.
  • Select, manage, and hold subcontractors accountable for scope, safety, quality, schedule, and performance.
  • Serve as the primary project contact for village leadership, local stakeholders, internal teams, and external partners, ensuring expectations and responsibilities remain clear.
  • Plan and oversee complex rural-Alaska logistics, including freight, staging, barges, air transport, equipment, workforce, and material mobilization.
  • Identify project, supply-chain, schedule, and field risks early and implement practical mitigation strategies before they affect execution.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with applicable contractual, safety, code, and quality requirements.

What You'll Bring

  • Seven or more years of progressive project management experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing construction, infrastructure, or energy projects through execution and closeout.
  • Experience managing project budgets of $1 million or more, including forecasting, cost tracking, and financial accountability.
  • Strong experience managing subcontractors, schedules, competing priorities, and project risk.

Even Better if You Have

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • PMP certification.
  • Experience managing projects in Alaska or rural Alaska communities.
  • Renewable energy, utility-scale solar, electrical contracting, or related energy-infrastructure experience.
  • Experience coordinating remote-site freight, barges, air cargo, or other complex mobilization logistics.
