Description
- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures on construction sites.
- Conduct regular safety training and toolbox talks for all site personnel.
- Perform site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Investigate and report on-site accidents, incidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers and teams to incorporate safety measures into project plans.
- Maintain accurate safety records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with local and federal safety standards.
- Provide guidance and support to contractors and subcontractors regarding safety practices.
Profile
A successful Construction Safety Manager should have:
- Previous experience as a Safety Manager in commercial construction.
- Required certifications: OSHA 500 and/or OSHA 510.
- Background working with a larger or highly structured GC preferred.
- Strong field presence with the ability to influence crews and leaders.
- Deep knowledge of OSHA standards and safety best practices.
- Stable work history with strong tenure.
- Practical, hands‑on approach to safety, not purely administrative.
