Job Details
We are seeking an experienced Federal Construction Superintendent to lead the field execution of an upcoming ground-up federal facilities project in South Florida.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing all field operations from mobilization through final turnover while ensuring the project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all contract requirements.
The ideal candidate has successfully led ground-up federal vertical construction projects valued between $7M-$12M and possesses a thorough understanding of all phases of commercial construction, from underground utilities through final finishes.
Typical Project Scope
Projects may include:
Ground-up administrative and operational facilitiesStructural steel and pre-engineered building systemsComplete mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installationsSite development and earthworkUnderground utility installationParking areas, sidewalks, and exterior improvementsStormwater infrastructureBuilding commissioning and project closeout
Responsibilities
Lead all daily field operations from mobilization through completionSupervise subcontractors and coordinate multiple tradesMaintain project schedules and sequencingEnsure compliance with plans, specifications, and federal quality standardsPromote and enforce jobsite safetyCoordinate inspections, testing, and project turnoverWork closely with the Project Manager to resolve field issuesMaintain daily reports and project documentationManage site logistics, deliveries, and workforce planningBuild strong working relationships with owners, inspectors, and subcontractors
Qualifications
5+ years of Superintendent experience on comparable federal construction projectsExperience leading ground-up vertical commercial or federal projects valued between $7M-$12MExperience managing projects from sitework through final finishes, including:EarthworkUnderground utilitiesConcreteStructural systemsBuilding envelopeMechanical, electrical, and plumbing systemsInterior and exterior finishesAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsExcellent leadership, scheduling, and communication skillsExperience with pre-engineered metal buildings (PEMB)Previous work for federal agencies such as USACE, NAVFAC, VA, NPS, GSA, Air Force, or other Department of Defense clientsOSHA 30 CertificationExperience with Procore or similar construction management software
