Construction Superintendent
Position Overview
The General Superintendent provides leadership and mentorship to all field staff, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic vision and goals. This role oversees field operations with a focus on quality control, safety, training and development, and staffing. The General Superintendent supports project teams to deliver projects on time, on budget, and with a client-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with PX, VP, and PM on project approach and client presentations.
- Review project schedules and assist with procurement for less experienced staff.
- Assess constructability, code compliance, site access, safety, and phasing.
- Prepare preliminary schedules and site logistics plans prior to field involvement.
- Ensure compliance with building rules, permits, and local regulations.
- Meet with local officials prior to project start for smooth setup.
- Assign proper staffing and supervision with appropriate experience.
- Monitor staff performance through regular check-ins and meetings.
- Identify and implement efficiencies in field operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field.
- 5+ years supervisory/project management experience across diverse sectors.
- Experience with projects ranging from $500,000 to $10M or more.
- Proficient in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control.
- Strong knowledge of safety practices; ability to enforce safety plans.
- Familiarity with drawings, specifications, and contract terms.
- Experience managing complex, fast-paced, high-visibility projects.
- Ability to participate in sales processes and client presentations.
- Strong technical, written, and communication skills.
- Proven leadership with interest in mentoring and team development.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Procore, and Microsoft Project.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
