Job Description

Position Summary

Tekton Contractors is seeking a driven, organized, and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee residential and light commercial construction projects from start to finish. The Superintendent is responsible for managing day-to-day field operations, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, maintaining schedules, ensuring quality standards, and enforcing jobsite safety.

This role is critical to delivering projects on time, on budget, and at the high standards our clients expect. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, communicates effectively, and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight

  • Manage all daily jobsite operations and field activities
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and vendors
  • Ensure projects are completed according to plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Monitor project progress and proactively solve field issues
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term project schedules
  • Coordinate inspections, deliveries, and subcontractor sequencing
  • Identify potential delays and implement corrective actions
  • Work closely with Project Managers to maintain project timelines and budgets

Quality Control

  • Conduct routine quality inspections throughout all phases of construction
  • Ensure workmanship meets Tekton Contractors standards
  • Review plans and specifications for accuracy and constructability
  • Oversee punch list completion and project closeout processes

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety standards on all jobsites
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and site inspections
  • Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and jobsite documentation

Communication

  • Serve as the primary field contact for subcontractors and inspectors
  • Provide regular project updates to management
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and trade partners
  • Collaborate with office staff to ensure smooth project execution

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of superintendent or construction management experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods and sequencing
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and construction documents
  • Experience managing subcontractors and multiple trades simultaneously
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with construction management software and mobile technology
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with custom homes, remodels, or light commercial projects
  • Knowledge of scheduling software and project management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Self-motivated with a high level of accountability

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk jobsites regularly and navigate uneven terrain
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders and access construction areas safely
