Job Description

Position Summary

Our Operational Finance Transformation team serves as a trusted advisor and thought partner to CFOs, CAOs, and other executive clients. We leverage Deloitte's comprehensive capabilities, assets, and insights to deliver innovative, market-driven solutions. Our mission is to help clients modernize their end-to-end Finance functions, including Invoice to Pay, Invoice to Cash, and Record to Report. We help organizations enhance financial and operational performance, manage financial and audit risks, drive organizational change, and position Finance as a strategic business partner. Finance GBS organizations are increasingly becoming the enterprise's nerve center for AI-enabled decision-making, resilience, and growth. We help clients make that shift by modernizing Finance operations through ERP enablement, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, generative AI, and agentic AI.

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Consultant to join our Operational Finance Transformation team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of Finance Operations-including Invoice to Pay, Invoice to Cash, and Record to Report-as well as related operating model structures, technologies, AI use cases, ERP enablement, and performance measures. Strong analytical and communication skills, along with an interest in the intersection of technology, process design, talent, and AI-enabled Finance service delivery, are required. In this role, you will support strategic business transformation initiatives, help develop governance structures, assist in implementing new capabilities, and contribute to optimizing functional processes using leading technologies. You will also help explore how work can be effectively performed by people, automation, or AI agents.

Recruiting for this role ends on 12/31/2026.

Work You'll Do

As a Consultant on the GBS Operational Finance Transformation team, you will support Finance transformation initiatives that improve end-to-end Finance operations, operating models, service delivery, and enabling technologies. You will:

  • Support project delivery by preparing materials for meetings, workshops, and client presentations, and tracking issues, risks, decisions, dependencies, and status.
  • Analyze current-state Finance processes, operating models, and governance structures to identify improvement opportunities across Invoice to Pay, Invoice to Cash, and Record to Report.
  • Assist in developing future-state process designs, business requirements, and implementation approaches that incorporate ERP, workflow, automation, analytics, and artificial intelligence solutions.
  • Support research and analysis of generative AI, agentic AI, intelligent automation, and predictive analytics use cases relevant to Finance Operations.
  • Help document hybrid human-AI workflows, including where human judgment is required and where AI agents or automation can execute, monitor, and escalate work.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of technology platforms and emerging solutions that can move Finance Operations beyond point-solution pilots toward embedded, scalable capabilities.
  • Support the development of governance considerations for AI and automation use within Finance Operations, including oversight, exception handling, and responsible adoption.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and change management activities, including communications, training support, workforce adoption, and reskilling considerations.
  • Collaborate with Deloitte teams, client stakeholders, and technology teams to support proposal development, project execution, and high-quality deliverables.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, practice development, and the growth of Deloitte's AI-enabled Operational Finance offerings.

A Successful Candidate Would Possess These Skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product.
  • Ability to build and sustain professional relationships.
  • Ability to support projects or workstreams.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and provide clear guidance to others.
  • Strong curiosity about emerging technologies and their practical application to Finance Operations.
  • Ability to translate complex business, process, and technology concepts into clear, actionable insights.
  • Willingness to learn and apply new AI-enabled tools, methods, and ways of working.

The Team

As Finance cycles converge, our GBS Operational Finance Transformation team advises, implements, and operates best-in-class solutions that accelerate insight and transform Finance organizations from functional service providers into dynamic capabilities.

We deliver resilient, agile, and cost-effective outcomes that advance the CFO, CAO, and other executive stakeholders' agendas. Our solutions and capabilities support ERP-enabled and AI-enabled transformation through the functional design, implementation, and governance of Finance processes, controls, policies, operating models, and human-AI workflows.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ years of consulting or industry experience supporting Finance Operations, shared services, process improvement, or transformation initiatives, including Invoice to Pay, Invoice to Cash, and/or Record to Report.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Experience supporting the analysis, design, or implementation of business processes, operating models, or governance frameworks.
  • Experience developing client-ready analyses and materials using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: ERP platforms, Tableau, Power BI, ServiceNow, Salesforce, HighRadius, BlackLine, Basware, workflow tools, automation solutions, or artificial intelligence use cases in Finance Operations.
  • Exposure to generative AI tools, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, or AI-enabled workflows.
  • Ability to interpret data and communicate data-driven insights to diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of or exposure to process improvement and change management concepts.
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting back-office functional optimization, shared services, or outsourcing programs across Invoice to Pay, Invoice to Cash, and/or Record to Report.
  • Experience supporting change management activities, including communications, training, stakeholder engagement, or workforce adoption.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Prosci, ADKAR, or project management methods or certifications.
  • Experience with robotic process automation, workflow platforms, or technology-enabled business transformation.
  • Exposure to hybrid human-AI operating models, agentic AI platforms, orchestration tools, or AI governance and responsible AI concepts.
  • Exposure to Finance Operations AI-maturity assessments, adoption strategies, or transformation roadmaps.
  • Advanced degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
