Role Definition

Provides leadership and architecture guidance for enterprise applications supporting Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement, and Supplier Collaboration processes. Partners with business and technology stakeholders to define solution strategies, evaluate alternatives, simplify complex business and technical challenges, and deliver scalable solutions aligned to enterprise objectives. Leads architecture activities across the full solution lifecycle, from business assessment and planning through implementation and adoption.

Responsibilities

  • Lead solution architecture activities for enterprise initiatives such as S&OP, Demand Planning, Material Planning, Production Scheduling, MRP, Supply Execution, Procurement, and Supplier Collaboration capabilities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and delivery teams to understand business objectives, analyze current-state processes and systems, identify opportunities for improvement, and define future-state solutions.
  • Translate complex business and technical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations that enable effective decision-making by both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Develop architecture artifacts including solution diagrams, business process flows, integration designs, data flow models, capability maps, and technology roadmaps.
  • Evaluate solution alternatives and provide recommendations based on business value, scalability, maintainability, implementation risk, and long-term enterprise strategy.
  • Facilitate architecture reviews and guide teams through requirements analysis, fit-gap assessments, design validation, testing readiness, deployment planning, and production support activities.
  • Lead investigation and resolution of complex business and technical issues by applying structured problem-solving and root cause analysis techniques.
  • Collaborate across business, product, architecture, and engineering teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards, strategic objectives, and operational requirements.
  • Mentor analysts, product owners, and architects by sharing architecture best practices, improving problem-solving capabilities, and promoting systems thinking across the organization.
  • Stay current on industry trends, supply chain technologies, planning capabilities, and enterprise application practices to identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement business processes.
  • Experience with ERP LN/Baan 5c, planning, procurement, or enterprise business applications.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving business, product, and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience developing architecture diagrams, process models, integration designs, or technology roadmaps.

Summary Pay Range:

$128,470.00 - $192,710.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
