Job Description

Title: Contents Restoration Technician

Location: Reno, NV

Come work as a Contents Restoration Technician with Paul Davis Restoration and you too can become a difference maker. As a Contents Restoration Technician in our Emergency Services Department, you will work in homes and commercial properties affected by disasters such as water, fire, mold, or smoke damage. Your primary responsibilities include documenting, protecting, packing, organizing, and cleaning affected contents. Salvageable items are carefully removed, transported to our warehouse for deep cleaning, and then returned to the customer.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, respectful customer service during the restoration process
  • Pack and move customers' belongings with care
  • Wrap and protect furniture and household items
  • Clean and help restore items damaged by smoke, fire, or other events
  • Keep simple, accurate records of items and work completed
  • Treat customers' homes and property with respect at all times
  • Support team members and complete other tasks as assigned
  • Willingness to learn, follow instructions, and work as part of a team

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Comfortable working in a variety of environments, including heat and cold
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
  • Able to work efficiently while maintaining quality
  • Ability to safely use cleaning products and equipment (training provided)
  • Able to pass a respirator physical and fit test

Education and Experience

  • Knowledge of practices and procedures of water, fire, mold, and asbestos trades preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, solutions, and use of solvents
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • IICRC certified in any area is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Lift (constantly) 5 - 40 pounds, lift (frequently) 20 - 100 pounds
  • May involve significant standing/walking/pushing/pulling
  • Occasional climbing (ladders, etc.), balancing, crouching, frequent stooping, reaching, kneeling, and handling
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Exposure to weather with temperatures ranging from mild/moderate to extreme cold/heat
  • Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud from occasional to frequent
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Operating machinery and/or power tools
  • Operating motor vehicles or heavy equipment
