Job Description

Position Summary:

The CBS Coordinator will assist in coordinating and developing the organization's Operational Excellence Deployment Plan. The CBS Coordinator will identify opportunities for process improvement and develop and execute plans to achieve identified targets. The CBS Coordinator will ensure that the Kaizen's are completed successfully driving breakthrough results. They will also ensure Kaizen schedule, results, and updates are loaded into the eRoom in a timely manner. Facilitate consistent follow up and follow through occur for each event by driving completion of post event actions and metric tracking. The CBS Coordinator is responsible for becoming a Tool Champion is key CBS tools and facilitate other employees earning their own Tool Champion status.

Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):

  • Lead, Participate and facilitate kaizen and project events to achieve strategic business targets in the areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth

  • Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.

  • Ensures timely and successful completion of Kaizen (flow & process) and Projects, and provides on-going feedback and progress reports as required to Leadership Team.

  • Ensure timely completion of all Kaizen Newspaper items after completion of the event.

  • Performs product process analysis for safety improvements, cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency.

  • Manage and drive improvements in 5S across the site.

  • Performs research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment.

  • Uses sound principles and established procedural disciplines to execute projects from conception to completion.

  • Provides training, mentoring and support to develop Certified Tool Champions through the organization.

  • Work with all levels of the Site Leadership team to identify significant improvement opportunities that drive our SDP and SQDCG metrics.

  • Manage the "Kaizen Roadmap" to coordinate Kaizen events across the site.

  • Become officially certified as a "Tool Champion" in multiple CBS tools

  • Facilitate Kaizen Events per Kaizen Roadmap schedule (facilitation means to deliver training and overall guidance for Kaizen Events).

  • Continuously audit Kaizen Event results across the site.

  • Assume projects as an individual contributor as requested by the Site Leader.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Operations Management or related degree.

  • 1-3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Understanding of process improvement skills and tools

  • Problem solving and root-cause analysis skills.

  • Hands-on experience with the successful application of continuous improvement Tools.

  • Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in CAD programs

  • Unimpeachable ethics.

  • A demonstrated history of successfully facilitating changes that involve all levels of employees.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Ability to travel as necessary.
