Basic Function and Scope of Responsibilities
The Contract Credentialing Specialist is responsible for supporting the credentialing and compliance process for school-based professionals placed across K-12 educational settings nationwide. This role ensures clinicians and education professionals meet client, state, and regulatory requirements prior to assignment start dates, supporting timely placements during peak hiring season.
This position will focus heavily on school-based staffing credentialing, ensuring candidates are fully compliant before placement in school districts.
As a member of the Credentialing and Compliance team, the Contract Credentialing Specialist partners closely with recruiters, client services, vendors, and clinicians to maintain compliance-ready credentialing files and deliver a seamless onboarding experience. This role requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to operate in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
This is a temporary four-month contract assignment designed to support seasonal credentialing demand.
Principal Responsibilities
Support the credentialing process for new placements, ensuring compliance with company, client, and school district requirements.
Assist in credentialing workflows including:
License and primary source verification
Background checks and employment verification
School district compliance documentation
Occupational health compliance (TB testing, immunizations, etc.)
Skills checklists and competency documentation
Certification and credential verification
Upload, track, and maintain accurate documentation within internal systems, ATS platforms (e.g., Bullhorn), and VMS platforms as required.
Communicate with candidates, recruiters, and internal teams to collect required credentialing documentation and resolve compliance issues.
Monitor credentialing progress to ensure clinicians are cleared for assignment start dates.
Collaborate with recruiters, client representatives, and credentialing leadership to expedite urgent placements and resolve credentialing barriers.
Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information and comply with applicable HIPAA, privacy, and organizational policies.
Meet productivity and quality standards related to credentialing turnaround times and documentation accuracy.
Assist with maintaining audit-ready credentialing files during the contract period.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Required
1-2 years of experience in credentialing, onboarding, compliance, or staffing operations
Experience working in high-volume administrative or compliance environments
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
Ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple systems including ATS, VMS, and credentialing platforms
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with State Backgrounds and Fingerprinting
Preferred
Experience with school-based staffing or education staffing credentialing
Experience working with MSP clients and VMS technology
Familiarity with Bullhorn ATS
Prior experience credentialing therapists, behavioral specialists, or education professionals
Experience with Faith's Law
