What You Will Be Doing

We're searching for a new contracts professional to join our F-16 DCS | Integrated Fighter Group team!

The Contracts Management, Staff, role for the F-16 DCS program is responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of complex international contracts, from proposal development through contract closeout. This position serves as a key business partner across cross-functional teams, providing contractual guidance, risk assessment, and strategic input to ensure successful program execution. The role requires active engagement with internal stakeholders and external customers to manage contract performance, support negotiations, and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, company policies, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving efficient contract proposals and execution, mitigating risk, and maintaining strong customer relationships in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal Preparation and Coordination:

  • Review and evaluate customer requests for new business efforts and/or modifications to existing contracts.
  • Provide contractual recommendations, conduct risk assessments and create mitigation plans, and propose alternative approaches to contract execution through contract language revisions.
  • Coordinate proposal generation and submission, collaborate with other functional areas to investigate and reconcile significant contract changes that frequently impact cost, schedule, technical specifications, etc.

Contract Management and Negotiations:

  • Collaborate with associated functional organizations and customers to ensure conformance with contractual obligations, remain cognizant of potential or existing problem areas, and implement required corrective actions.
  • Develop and apply advanced contractual concepts, techniques, and standards to assigned duties.
  • Develop and apply solutions to complex problems which require a high degree of ingenuity, contractual creativity, and innovation.
  • Continuously evaluate and oversee contract performance.
  • Create and maintain enduring relationships with internal and external customers to facilitate timely and transparent communications.
  • Ensure final contract documents are consistent with agreements reached at negotiations.

Contract Closeout:

  • Ensure timely contract closure by initiating closeout activities as required by terms and conditions.
  • Create contract closeout schedules and coordinate with functional areas to drive closure of administrative tasks as required by company policies and federal regulations.

You are a proactive and detail-oriented contracts professional with a strong understanding of the contract lifecycle and the ability to navigate complex contractual environments. You bring experience in proposal development, contract negotiations, and performance management, along with the ability to assess risk and develop effective mitigation strategies. You are a strong communicator who can collaborate across functional teams and build trusted relationships with customers. Known for your problem-solving skills and sound judgment, you are comfortable working through ambiguity and developing creative solutions to complex challenges. You take ownership of your work, maintain a high standard of accuracy and compliance, and are driven to support successful program outcomes through effective contract management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree with 5+ years of professional experience .

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in reviewing and drafting terms and conditions
  • First-hand negotiation experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting complex contractual concepts to technical, financial, and senior‑executive audiences
  • Direct involvement in DCS sales, either as part of a prime contractor, OEM, or a government‑to‑government sales office
  • Prior work on offset agreements, technology‑transfer clauses, and industrial‑participation plans

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $109,200 - $189,290. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $95,000 - $167,440. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
