Anchorage, Alaska (100% Onsite) $165,000–$205,000 Base + 20% Bonus + 10% Profit Sharing + Long-Term Incentive - Excellent Benefits + 401(k) Match Full Relocation Package Provided
Opportunity
We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Controller to join the senior leadership team of a large-scale industrial operation. This position is open due to a planned retirement and offers the opportunity to step into a highly visible leadership role with significant influence across finance and operations.
The Controller will oversee all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and business planning activities while partnering closely with operational leadership to drive profitability, manage risk, and support long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and corporate accounting policies
Provide financial analysis and strategic guidance to executive leadership
Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range business planning processes
Identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational performance
Oversee audits, tax reporting, internal controls, and financial systems
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of four direct reports
Partner with operational leaders and key external stakeholders
Qualifications
CPA required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
12+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience
Proven Controller experience within a large enterprise environment
Heavy industry experience required, including mining, oil & gas, energy, pulp & paper, manufacturing, or similar operations
Experience supporting operational or remote site-based businesses
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and SOX compliance
Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
Willingness to relocate to Anchorage, Alaska
