This role ensures the integrity of financial information, compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements, and the development of strong internal controls. The Controller will manage the day-to-day accounting operations while providing strategic financial insights to support operational and organizational growth.The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, healthcare industry experience, and a hands-on leadership approach.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingOversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assetsPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsEnsure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processesDevelop and maintain financial reporting packages for executive leadership and board reportingMonitor cash flow and liquidity to ensure operational stabilityRegulatory & ComplianceEnsure compliance with GAAP and healthcare-specific regulatory requirementsOversee preparation of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer reporting (if applicable)Coordinate and manage annual audits and cost reportsMaintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrityBudgeting & ForecastingLead the annual budgeting processDevelop financial forecasts and variance analysesPartner with department leaders to monitor financial performance and improve cost managementProvide actionable insights to support strategic decision-makingLeadership & Process ImprovementManage and mentor accounting staffEvaluate and improve accounting systems, processes, and workflowsSupport implementation or optimization of ERP or healthcare billing systemsCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, clinical leadership, HR, and revenue cycle teamsQualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5–10+ years of progressive accounting experience3+ years in a leadership or supervisory roleHealthcare industry experience (hospital, multi-site practice, ASC, behavioral health, senior care, or related)Strong knowledge of GAAP and healthcare reimbursement modelsExperience with audits and financial statement preparationPreferredCPA designation strongly preferredExperience with healthcare billing systems and EMR integrationsExperience with multi-entity or multi-location organizationsERP system experienceInterested in hearing more?
