The Controller will oversee accounting, financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong manufacturing finance expertise, operational insight, and a commitment to continuous improvement.Why join us?Competitive salary based on experiencePerformance-based bonusComprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k)Career growth opportunities within a growing organizationJob DetailsKey ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingOversee all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Manage month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy.Coordinate external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.Cost Accounting & Manufacturing FinanceMaintain and analyze standard costs, bill of materials (BOM), labor and overhead rates, and inventory valuation.Partner with operations to monitor production variances, scrap, labor efficiency, and plant performance metrics.Ensure accurate job costing and margin analysis for existing and new products.Lead periodic physical inventory and cycle count processes.Budgeting, Forecasting & AnalysisDevelop annual budgets and monthly/quarterly forecasts.Perform financial modeling and variance analysis to provide meaningful insights to leadership.Support strategic planning and capital investment decisions.Internal Controls & Process ImprovementStrengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve data integrity.Lead or support system upgrades or ERP initiatives.Leadership & CollaborationManage and develop the accounting team, promoting a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.Collaborate closely with operations, supply chain, sales, and senior leadership to drive business performance.Serve as a trusted advisor to management on financial implications of operational decisions.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles.Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor, Infor).Demonstrated experience improving accounting processes and internal controls.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.PreferredCPA or CMA certificationExperience in a mid-sized or multi-site manufacturing environment.Prior leadership experience managing an accounting team.Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities.Interested in hearing more?
