A bit about us:

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of our manufacturing facility in Louisville, KY. This role is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, including financial reporting, cost accounting, audit support, and compliance with GAAP.

The Controller will partner closely with leadership to provide financial insights, manage banking relationships, and ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes. This position also leads a small accounting team and plays a key role in driving operational efficiency within a fast-paced, blue-collar manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP, AR, and invoicingManage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timelinessPrepare monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAPSupport external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory requirementsHandle corporate tax filings and coordinate with external advisors as neededMaintain and manage banking relationships and cash flow activitiesImplement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting proceduresUtilize and optimize Great Plains accounting software for financial operationsSupervise and develop a team of 5–6 employees (AP Clerk, AR Manager, Staff Accountant, invoicing staff)Collaborate with operations to support cost accounting and inventory management

Job Details

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)CPA certification (preferred)5–10 years of progressive accounting experiencePrior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferredCost accounting experience is a plusStrong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standardsExperience managing audits and working with external auditorsProven leadership experience managing accounting teamsExperience with Great Plains accounting software highly preferredStrong tenure and demonstrated career stabilityAbility to work onsite full-time in Louisville, KYComfortable working in a hands-on, operational, blue-collar environment
