This Controller role is a hands‑on leadership position within a manufacturing and production environment in Rochester, NH, overseeing financial reporting, cost accounting, and day‑to‑day accounting operations. The role partners closely with leadership and operations to drive accurate reporting, manage the close process, and support the continued growth of the business. They have a collaborative, tenured team environment and are looking to bring in a hands‑on Controller to support continued growth and strengthen their financial operations. DescriptionThe responsibilities of the Controller include:Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
Oversee cost accounting and inventory valuation within a manufacturing environment, including analysis of variances
Prepare and review financial statements, P&L analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations
Lead and develop a small accounting team, ensuring strong performance and collaboration
Partner closely with operations and leadership to drive financial insights, improve processes, and support business decisions
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and audit requirements
Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies across the accounting function ProfileThe successful Controller will: Strong background in manufacturing accounting, including cost accounting, inventory, and financial reporting
Hands‑on experience with month‑end close, balance sheet ownership, and variance analysis
Proven ability to partner with operations and understand plant‑level financial drivers
Experience managing or mentoring a small team (2-5 direct reports or similar)Confident but not ego‑driven; collaborative, approachable, and team‑orientedTrack record of stable tenure and steady career growth
Strong attention to detail with the ability to improve processes and drive efficiencies
