Job Description
Exegistics is partnered with a well known packaging company that is looking for a controls engineer in the Louisville area.Summary/Objective: Designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. Responsible for the technical support of PLC based hardware and software, installation, troubleshooting, and training.Specific Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Operate computer systems
- Create electrical schematics
- Confer with technical personnel to prepare designs or operational plans
- Discuss designs or plans with clients
- Maintain electronic equipment
- Direct equipment maintenance or repair activities
- Direct installation activities
- Prepare operational and development reports
- Investigate system, equipment, or product failures
- Estimate technical or resource requirements for development or production projects
- Program PLCs according to customer functional specifications
- Troubleshoot and debug PLC programs
- Program HMIs according to customer specifications
- Familiar with industrial equipment
- Experience with packaging equipment
- 5-7 years experience programming Allen-Bradley and Siemens
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- 5-7 years experience in the field or in related area
- 5-7 years experience programming PLCs and HMI
- Walking and standing are required
- Light physical work may require exerting up to 20 pounds of force
- Worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing computer, extensive reading, and visual inspection of small parts
- Generally, the worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions
- Occasionally climbing, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds may be required
- Occasionally stooping, kneeling, and crouching may be required
- Occasionally the worker is subject to noise, physical hazards, and working in close quarters
- Travel 20 30% to visit customer sites
