Job Description
Controls Engineer
The Controls Engineer will report directly into the Engineering Manager and be responsible for:
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for automated equipment and production systems.
- Support machine startup, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Assist with HMI development and control system integration.
- Troubleshoot electrical and controls-related issues during equipment builds and customer support activities.
- Work with engineers and technicians to implement design improvements and system upgrades.
- Support the creation and maintenance of electrical schematics, controls documentation, and software backups.
- Assist in continuous improvement projects focused on machine performance, reliability, and safety.
- Participate in equipment validation activities as needed.

The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of controls, automation, or electrical engineering experience.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
- Allen-Bradley PLC experience preferred; experience with other PLC platforms will also be considered.
- Familiarity with HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial communication protocols.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and assist with system troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering.
- Ability to support occasional travel for equipment installation and startup activities.
