Job Description
- Duties and responsibilities include maintaining safe and sanitary conditions in the kitchen, dining room and related storage areas.
- Maintaining a posted schedule to ensure the kitchen is adequately staffed at all times.
- Maintaining an up-to-date inventory of all food and supplies.
- The Cook will ensure that all menus are followed, food is properly prepared, meals are served on time, and food is properly rotated with leftovers being used as quickly as possible.
- The Cook will also check freezers and refrigerators daily, ensure the security of the kitchen and stock, assist with time cards for kitchen personnel, and assist in planning and determining food quantities as necessary.
- High school diploma, equivalent, or relevant experience.
- Certificate of completion of ServSafe or government program/training for kitchen safety is required.
- Knowledge of kitchen and experience with food preparation for large groups.
- Ability to follow directions and to lead a team.
