Job Description

About the Role

iCapital is seeking a highly motivated and intellectually curious Equity Accounting and Reporting Associate to join the Corporate Finance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to become a subject matter expert in stock-based compensation accounting, equity reporting, and related tax and financial reporting matters within a rapidly growing global fintech organization. This individual will gain exposure to complex technical accounting issues, strategic transactions, and cross-functional initiatives that directly impact the Company's capital structure and growth strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly accounting, reporting, and quarterly/annual close activities related to the Company's global stock-based compensation programs under ASC 718.
  • Prepare and maintain stock compensation calculations, expense forecasts, valuation support schedules, account reconciliations, and disclosure support.
  • Analyze the accounting implications of equity transactions, including grants, exercises, vesting events, modifications, forfeitures, cancellations, RSU settlements, share issuances, and other strategic transactions.
  • Evaluate complex equity-related transactions, including acquisitions, replacement awards, recapitalizations, liquidity events, and new equity program structures.
  • Prepare stock-based compensation disclosures and supporting analyses for financial statements, management reporting, and regulatory filings.
  • Assist with equity-related tax accounting analyses, including deferred tax assets, tax deductions, excess tax benefits, and stock compensation impacts on the income tax provision.
  • Support technical accounting research, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration related to stock compensation, equity transactions, and emerging accounting guidance.
  • Serve as a key finance contact for external auditors, preparing audit-ready documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Support the design, execution, documentation, and enhancement of SOX controls and governance processes related to stock compensation and equity reporting.
  • Assist in preparing analyses and documentation supporting global tax, regulatory, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Legal, Payroll, Tax, and third-party equity administrators to ensure accurate processing and reporting of equity transactions.
  • Monitor and reconcile equity activity across source systems, capitalization records, and the general ledger.
  • Assist with capitalization table management, share reserve analyses, and related equity reporting requirements.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to automate processes, enhance reporting capabilities, strengthen internal controls, and support process transformation initiatives.
  • Prepare analyses and presentations supporting management decision-making and strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to special projects related to equity programs, acquisitions, and organizational growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • 3-5+ years of experience in public accounting, technical accounting, audit, financial reporting, or corporate accounting
  • Strong foundation in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting concepts
  • Exposure to ASC 718, ASC 740, business combinations, valuation, or technical accounting matters is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex transactions and communicate accounting conclusions clearly and effectively
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, large-data analysis, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Comfortable operating in a controlled environment with a focus on governance, process discipline, and audit readiness
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to work cross-functionally across Finance, Tax, Legal, HR, Payroll, and external advisors

Benefits

The base salary range for this role is $ 90,000 to $ 115,000. iCapital offers a compensation package which includes salary, equity for all full-time employees, and an annual performance bonus.
