Job Summary
McCarthy, Lebit, Crystal & Liffman Co., LPA is seeking a Corporate Legal Secretary to support its Business & Corporate Practice Group. Experience in providing essential support for attorneys handling real estate matters, mergers and acquisitions, entity foundations, and corporate filings is required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including contracts, agreements, resolutions, and corporate filings.
- Assist in the preparation of documents for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.
- Assist with all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including due diligence, document preparation, and closing activities.
- Conduct research on property titles, zoning regulations, and other relevant legal issues.Prepare and file various real estate-related documents, such as deeds, mortgages, and lease agreements.
- Working knowledge of filing procedures, requirements, and e-filing with the Secretary of State office, in addition to federal, state, and local courts.
- Schedule appointments including meeting invites, video conference details, meal requests, and the maintenance of attorney calendars.
- Support attorneys in all stages of corporate transactions, including due diligence, closings, and post-closing integration.
- Assist with billing and time entry as needed.
- Coordinate with external counsel, clients, and other parties involved in transactions.
- Maintain organized and accurate paper and electronic files.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of corporate law and regulatory requirements.
- Strong knowledge of real estate law and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems. NetDocs experience is a plus.
- The ability to lift a minimum of ten pounds.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma.
- A minimum of three years of Corporate & Real Estate experience.
