Job Description

Overview:

CYM Living LLC - Where caring meets innovation. We are a national real estate firm with corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL, Indianapolis, IN, and just outside of New York City. Our mission is to provide our residents with an exceptional living experience, nurture a culture of community, and empower growth from within. As a vertically integrated firm, we lead operations by taking a hands-on approach to real estate investment and property management. We accomplish our mission by incorporating data and technology with hyperlocal customer service to all units.

Position Summary:

The In-House Recruiter owns full-cycle recruiting and pre-employment onboarding across the property management portfolio, supporting onsite property teams and corporate departments. This role is responsible for sourcing, screening, and hiring for high-volume field roles (leasing, maintenance, property management, contact center) as well as corporate positions. The Recruiter partners closely with operations leaders to understand staffing needs, maintain pipeline visibility, and ensure positions are filled quickly with strong, culture-aligned candidates. This role is also responsible for drafting and issuing offer letters, managing background checks, and coordinating onboarding to ensure a seamless transition from candidate to new hire.

This is a hands-on, fast-paced role suited for someone who is highly proactive, organized, and comfortable driving hiring forward without waiting for direction. The ideal candidate is comfortable building pipelines, reaching out directly to candidates, and staying ahead of staffing needs across the portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who takes full ownership of their requisitions, moves with urgency, and understands how hiring directly impacts business performance. Spanish fluency is required to effectively communicate with candidates and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary recruiting partner for assigned departments and properties, owning full-cycle recruiting from intake through onboarding and managing a high-volume requisition load with urgency and accountability.
  • Run intake meetings with hiring managers to clarify role scope, timeline, and candidate profile before roles are posted.
  • Proactively source candidates through LinkedIn, job boards, referrals, local outreach, and industry networks rather than relying solely on inbound applicants.
  • Build and maintain ongoing pipelines for high-turnover or frequently hired roles (leasing, maintenance, property staff, contact center).
  • Screen resumes, conduct phone screens, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers and field teams.
  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the process.
  • Own recruiting reporting for assigned departments, providing visibility into hiring progress, aging roles, time-to-fill, offer acceptance rate, source effectiveness, and pipeline health.
  • Maintain accurate ATS data to ensure reliable reporting and compliance.
  • Draft and issue offer letters in alignment with compensation guidelines and internal approvals.
  • Initiate and monitor background checks and other pre-employment screenings, ensuring timely completion and compliance.
  • Coordinate pre-employment documentation and onboarding steps to ensure first-day readiness.
  • Ensure all hiring documentation is completed and stored appropriately in the ATS and employee files.
  • Assist with job description updates, recruiting process improvements, and employer branding initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of recruiting experience, preferably in property management, real estate, hospitality, retail, or other high-volume environments
  • Experience managing multiple open roles simultaneously across different departments or locations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to keep pipelines moving without heavy oversight
  • Comfort working directly with operations leaders and setting clear expectations on hiring timelines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Spanish fluency required
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system
  • Ability to work in person from the Chicago office
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • Retirement savings plan with employer match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Professional development opportunities and ongoing training

Base Salary: $50,000-$70,000, plus a bonus paid for each hire who successfully completes 120 days of employment.
