Job Description

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide.

Job Purpose

This role supports our financial operations by analyzing costs, evaluating production efficiency, andassistingin inventory and margin analysis. This role plays a keypartin ensuringaccuratecost data and supporting strategic decision-making across the organization.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

TheRole’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Analyze cost data, including material, labor, and overhead expenses.
Perform variance analysis (e.g., actual vs. standard, budget vs. actual) and provide insights to management.
Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to understand cost drivers and ensure data accuracy.
Support inventory valuation processes and cycle/physical counts.
Help with month-end close activities, including cost entriesand correcting subledger costing errors.
Handle confidential information related to cost and gross margins from customer sales.
Administer the freight claims process for inventory damaged by carriers.

RequiredExperience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field, or relevant experience in a cost accounting position.
0-2years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis.
Proficiencyin Excel.

Preferred Experience

Proficiencyin ERP systems (experience withOracle Cloud Fusion ERPis preferred).
Understanding ofcost accounting principles and inventory valuation.

Skills & Abilities

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Work is performed in an office environment.
