Cost Controls Specialist

Position Title: Cost Controls SpecialistLocation: Mount Storm, WV 26739 (Onsite)Pay Rate: $50–$52/hour on W2Duration: 4 Months (Possible Extension)Job Id: #173655Schedule: 40 hours/week with occasional overtime based on project needsMobilization/Demobilization: $500 one-time payment at the beginning and end of the assignment (subject to project policy).Per Diem: Available for qualified candidates at GSA CONUS rates.Position Overview

• We are seeking a Cost Controls Specialist to support a large capital generator outage project.
• This role will partner closely with Project Managers and Project Controls teams to manage financial, contractual, and accounting processes throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project procurement by creating and tracking Purchase Orders (POs)
• Process and maintain Change Orders (COs)
• Develop and maintain monthly cost forecasts
• Track project budgets, invoices, accruals, and financial performance
• Monitor contract milestones and funding levels
• Assist with project closeout activities, including asset unitization and retirement
• Support capital budget development and Project Request Forms (PRFs)
• Assist with audit documentation and financial reporting
• Generate SAP cost reports and analyze forecast vs. actual spending
• Recommend process improvements and support project controls activities

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience supporting capital projects with cost controls and financial reporting
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, accruals, invoices, and contract tracking
• Hands-on experience with SAP (financial/accounting transactions preferred)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerApps)
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred

• Experience supporting generator outage or large capital projects
• Knowledge of asset retirement and unitization processes
• Enterprise-level SAP experience
