Position Summary:Franklin Pierce University invites applications for a Counselor Clinician. This is a full-time, year-round, live-in position responsible for providing individual counseling, clinical supervision and/or group therapy services, wellness activities, initiatives and programs to students. The Counselor Clinician contributes to Counseling Services’ mission of empowering students to achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals within an environment that is safe, supportive, inclusive, and affirming.The Counseling Clinician reports directly to the Senior Director of Student Wellness and Outreach Education. The ideal candidate is an energetic, skilled, dedicated licensed psychologist or therapist who is passionate about student mental health, clinical practice, and contributing to a collaborative campus community. The Counseling Clinician values an approach to care that is grounded in services that are

- Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Clinical Social Work, Clinical Psychology, or a closely related field, with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy; or Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology with eligibility for licensure as a Psychologist in the State of New Hampshire and ability to provide clinical supervision, if applicable.
- Current independent clinical licensure in the State of New Hampshire (e.g., LCMHC, LICSW, Psychologist) or eligibility and ability to obtain New Hampshire licensure within a specified timeframe after hire.
- Demonstrated experience working with traditional college-aged students (18–25) and familiarity with developmental, academic, and psychosocial concerns common in higher education settings.
- Demonstrated experience in wellness and harm reduction programming and activities.
- Knowledge of best practices in crisis intervention, clinical assessment, risk assessment, and suicide prevention.
- Commitment to providing culturally responsive, inclusive, and affirming clinical services to a diverse student population.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills with the ability to build rapport and maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and function effectively in a fast-paced, student-centered clinical environment.
- Experience using electronic health record systems and maintaining clinical documentation, case notes, and diagnostic records consistent with professional and ethical standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and related administrative technologies.
- Successful completion of a background check required.
